* Newspapers sometimes referred to her as "Jessie Smith";
On 6/17/1844 she was seized at Chicago by a Detroit custom officer for a breach of revenue laws and was taken to Detroit where the case was tried in United States Court;
She ran out of Milwaukee 1845-1847;
