My great grandfather's brother John Quinn Jr. was capt. of the fred drews in 1913. His father John Quinn was capt of the chicago patrol boat at the time. They both died in 1915 when a steam pipe exploded on the tug Karl Sullivan tug. This happened while loading fill for the future navy pier.
