5. 6/00/1873, Lake Michigan, damaged hull in a gale and repaired, $1, 600 loss;
6. 10/23/1887, Noble, Lake Erie, 15 miles East of Cleveland), ashore, (coal), sank and raised;

The vessel was named after a Michigan senator, in consideration of his efforts in behalf of Lake and Harbor improvements; Particularly, the Niagara Ship Canal and the St. Clair flats straight out;
