*Last British vessel built at Detroit.
Michigan Pioneer Collection, Vol. 12, p. 58, notes that the snow , "Chippawa" has six gun carriages at Detroit, Michigan, June 17, 1793. This would indicate that she was built before 1795; Vol. 12, p. 136, Office of Ordnance, Detroit, 9/1/1794, "stores secured from on board the Chippawa formerly the Tebicas; This would indicate another vessel named Tebicas; Chippawa is never spelled as Chippewa.
Michigan Pioneer Collection, Vol. 24, p. 618: The British return of marine establishment in the province of Lower and Upper Canada, 1793, lists the Chippewa at 100 tons and armed with 6 guns;
