Notes
General notes:
*The New Orleans was built to carry 74 guns, but the War of 1812 ended before she was ever launched. The United States Government built a house over the ship and kept her on the roles until 1884. As the New Orleans was built for temporary service out of unseasoned lumber, it is not surprising that by 1822, she was reported as being in a rapid state of decay. On 2/9/1884, she was sold to Alfred Wilkinson who dismantled her for the materials; She was never floated;
**214' over all length, 187' keel length;
Wright's Master Sheet says she displaced 2,805 and built at Dexter, New York;
