Notes
General notes:
The Lord Nelson was seized by the United States on Lake Ontario thirteen days before the Declaration of War was issued to the British. It was reported on 7/22/1817, that William & James Crooks of upper Canada, won their court case and payment was awarded them by the Northern District Court for the State of New York. If this is true, it is hard to explain why the Crooks family was awarded $23,644.38 in 1828, by the United States, for the same offense.
She was armed with nine guns in 1812, and ten guns in 1813;
