* James Baker ordered her to be built for the British Government at the falls of Tecumish River;
She was chartered by R. H. Hones & David Baird, (10/20/1812);
**Noted as 1/3 and not given in ninety fifths;
The British take over Schooner, Ellen, on 6/15/1813 for public service and she was used in an attack on Fort Meigs;
Vessel burned to prevent her falling into the hands of the enemy under the orders of Major General Procter.
In 1906, Clarence M. Burton, President of the Michigan Pioneer Historical Society, identified a hulk in the Thames River above Pikeochler or (Pikeodle) as being the "Ellen". He purchased the hulk, but was not allowed to remove her from her present position.
The vessel was noted at Port Mackinac in 1809.
She cleared Erie, Pennsylvania, on 8/17/1810, 9/18/1810, 9/26/1810;
10/20/1813, she is on Lake Erie running from Detroit to Buffalo
