1. 9/1/1839, Detroit, caught on fire, burned and was towed to Huron, Ohio; repaired, $25, 000 loss;
2. 6/22/1840, Conneaut, Lake Erie, collision, (sank Schooner, Commercial), repaired;
3. 8/4/1840, Detroit River, Steamer, Great Western towed the disabled Steamer, Erie, to Detroit;
4. 10/25/1840, St. Clair Flats, ashore and released;
5. 6/15/1845, Point Wabashanks, second mate lost overboard while heaving the lead;
6. 9/23/1845, Milwaukee, sprang a leak, sank and raised $300 loss;
7. 5/5/1847, Great Western seized for violating Revenue Laws 3 years ago;
8. 7/29/1852, Lake Erie, collision, (Schooner, J. W. Brown), repaired;

Machinery: high pressure horizontal engine built at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Cylinder, 30" diameter x 10' stroke; she had 7 boilers; Wheels,27' diameter, with paddle wheels having a 13'6" x 12' wide radius;
She was the first steamer on the upper lakes to have an upper deck for passenger accommodations;
In 1855, she was dismantled and scrapped at Tonawanda, New York;
She was abandoned in 1855;
