Chronology:
1. 8/00/1840, Lake Michigan, struck by lightning and repaired;
2. 10/23/1840, Saginaw Bay, boilers gave way in a gale, smoke stacks lost overboard, drifted 75 miles, cargo thrown
overboard and the hull was damaged, repaired;
3. 10/00/1843, St. Clair River, sank and raised, (she had struck Pt. Aux Barques);
4. 00/00/1846, Erie, engine removed, hull sank and went into decay;
5. 00/00/1867, Erie, hull was raised and rebuilt and renamed;
6. 5/00/1869, Buffalo, hull damaged by ice and repaired, $500 loss;
7. 7/00/1874, Lake Erie, collision, (Schooner, E. P. Ryerse), repaired;
8. 5/29/1877, West Sister Island, Lake Erie, ashore and released;
9. 10/23/1878, Ashtabula, collision with a pier, sank and raised, $200 loss;
10. 9/16/1883, Conneaut, Lake Erie, waterlogged in a gale, sank, (lumber), $15, 000 loss;

*Built from the bottom of the Sidewheel Steamer, Missouri, at Erie, Pennsylvania;
First home port was Vermilion, Ohio; She was towed to Erie Pennsylvania, to pick up her engine and was finished at Buffalo, New York;.
Cleveland Herald: 7/16/1840 says she was launched at Huron, Ohio, a few months since which is an error in reporting;
Machinery: high pressure horizontal engine that was bought in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for $18,000; Cylinder: 30" diameter x 28" stroke;
Her engine went into the Steamer A. D. Patchin;
She was valued at $28,000, in 1871; $8,000, in 1878; $8,000, in 1882;
